Starting from vSphere hypervisor, deploy as follows:
- On the File menu, select Deploy OVF Template and follow the on-screen prompts.
- Browse to and then open the OVA package.
See Allocate System Resources if you need more information on how to access the OVA. - Click Next to accept and proceed through pagessdf.
- Select appropriate options on the pages.
- On the Disk Format page, select Thin Provision Lazy Zeroes and click Finish.
The machine deploys, and you should see the name of your new Command Center or Scout displayed among the inventory of virtual machines listed on the left-hand side of your page.
When using ovftool to deploy the OVA, ensure that no underscores is in the hostname when using the argument "--prop:guestinfo.hostname".
When using ovftool to deploy the OVA, the following warning message may appear:
No supported manifest(sha1, sha256, sha512) entry found for: 'FAM-v4.9.0.0-CmndCntr-32x8x100GB-disk1.vmdk'
This message is benign and can be ignored.
If needed, ovftool has a "--skipManifestCheck" flag that can be used to suppress that message, but is replaced with this message:
The manifest is present but user flag causing to skip it
Next, initialize the system.
