Upgrade the old system to Asset Manager 4.11.0.2 EDITOR NOTE: link to instructions for upgrading
Login to the CLI as an administrator / superuser
Run
system backup create <location>
• The <location> can be a local file or directory or an scp path such asuser@example.com:/tmp/filename.tgz
• If it’s a local file, then that file should be copied off the machinePower down the virtual machine
Mount the Asset Manager 5.0 DVD ISO on the virtual machine
Boot from the DVD
Select Install Asset Manager 5.0 – The system will reboot when finished
When the installation is finshed, login to the CLI as admin and complete the post-install configuration EDITOR NOTE: link to instructions for configuring the system
License the new system with a new Asset Manager license EDITOR NOTE: link to instructions for licensing the system
If the original system had a custom CA certificate or server certificate, then those should be installed now EDITOR NOTE: link to instructions for adding certificates to the system
Optionally, copy the saved backup file to the new system
Run
system backup restore <location>
to re-create the original system’s configurationsThe <location> can be the path to the local file you already transferred in step 11, or an scp path such as
user@example.com:/tmp/filename.tg

Deploying Scouts
You should disconnect the scouts from your Command Center. Then proceed with either option above. After the Scouts have been deployed at 5.0, reconnect to your Command Center.
