FireMon Management Dashboard

FireMon Asset Manager and FireMon Security Manager are two solutions that work together to eliminate gaps in Firewall Policy Management and improve your organization's security posture.

The integration reconciles Security Manager findings with Asset Manager findings and uncovers:

  • L2 and L3 Devices not being managed by Security Manager

  • L2 and L3 Devices unknown to Asset Manager, limiting Asset Manager’s discovery prowess.

Asset Manager accesses the API of Security Manager and retrieves the inventory of security devices. The system then correlates this inventory against its own authoritative index of defined forwarders.

Finally, Asset Manager compares and advises of any Forwarders where it doesn't see a FireMon Device Tag; indicating that these devices would be "undefended/unmanaged".

The following widgets highlights the differences and commonalities into views:

  • Visibility Alignment: Percentage of Asset Manager Forwarders known by Security Manager. To achieve 100% Visibility Alignment, view the charts on this screen to find the voids in your integration discovery.

  • Asset Manager vs Security Manager Forwarders: Pie chart offering quick visual of what Forwarders Asset Manager discovered, what Forwarders are known by Security Manager, and what Forwarders both have knowledge.

  • Asset Manager Total Forwarders: Total Forwarders Discovered by Asset Manager.

  • Asset Manager Exclusive Forwarder Count: Forwarders that Asset Manager discovered that are not managed by Security Manager. Check your Security Manager inventory for these IP addresses and add them if they are not present.

  • Security Manager Exclusive Forwarder Count: Forwarders managed by Security Manager that Asset Manager is not scanning. Verify these IPs are in your Asset Manager Zone Discovery Spaces.

  • Security Manager Exclusive Forwarder Count: This is your full visibility table. When 100% Visibility Alignment is achieved all your network Forwarders will reside in this table.
